Er, right! My first HMM custom! Command Wolf AC becomes Command Wolf GC, or Glacier Custom. If you want back story, have this: Commander Bob wanted his Command Wolf painted green. Despite the "Glacier" moniker, it has more to do with the color than actually being useful on Glaciers. There aren't many glaciers that are green. So there.
This took me at least two weeks to finish, mostly due to fussy paintwork. Color breakdown is as follows.
Blue armor-> Glacier Green Brown-> Earth Gold (paws)-> St. Lawrence Blue Light Grey (weapons)-> Panzer Schwarzgrau and Gunmetal.
As you can see, some of the detail on the leg armor and turret vanes is also St. Lawrence Blue. They wanted it painted white, but I figured as long as I was palette swapping... MIGHT AS WELL SWAP THAT TOO. Ah ha ha.
A few problems with the kit: For some idiotic reason, Kotobukiya included only orange canopies with AC wolf. Blue and orange... no. Fortunately, I still have my Empire LC wolf sitting in its box, and as Kotobukiya only included a forest green canopy with that one, I figured Red Wolfie wouldn't mind swapping for the orange. The other thing: Command Wolf as an HMM kit can't open his jaw worth crap. pointed out that this is ridiculous because other HMM Zoids are very munchy. She remedied it with some jaw surgery on her LC. I wasn't too keen on machete-ing GC up or prying the head apart. Again...
Tamiya also makes some good paint if you're looking for glossy, bright colours. The problem is that the Tamiya paints dry out too fast, so they're better for small parts and details.
Testors and Polyscale Enamels would work also, I just prefer Acrylics because they dry faster and don't emit horrible brain melting fumes.

In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
